How High Should a Wall-Mounted TV Bench Be Installed?

There is no single correct answer to this question. However, there are several important guidelines to consider when installing a wall-mounted TV bench. The ideal height depends on your personal preferences, the size of your TV, the height and distance of your sofa, and the overall layout of your living room.

The most important factor is that the TV screen should be at eye level when you are sitting or lying on the sofa. For most households, this means placing the center of the TV approximately 100–120 cm (39–47 inches) from the floor.

The height of the wall-mounted TV unit should complement the TV’s position, allowing for a balanced and visually appealing gap between the TV and the cabinet. In most cases, this means installing the TV unit approximately 25–35 cm (10–14 inches) above the floor.

Most people choose to mount both the TV and the TV unit on the wall. However, our wall-mounted TV cabinets are also designed to support a TV placed directly on top — provided the unit is securely and correctly fixed to the wall.

If the TV bench is mounted too low, the TV may appear less dominant on the wall. Ideally, the TV should remain the focal point of the space, while the TV bench serves as a stylish and functional accessory.

What Should You Consider During Installation?

Installing a wall-mounted TV bench requires proper preparation and precision. Below are some helpful tips for a safe and professional result:

• Furniture Assembly

All our TV benches are delivered flat-packed and must be assembled according to the included instructions. Correct assembly is crucial to ensure safe and smooth wall mounting later.

Avoid placing the TV cabinet near heat sources such as fireplaces or heaters.

• Easy Wall Mounting System

All our wall-mounted TV benches come with an integrated mounting rail system for simple and secure installation. The mounting rail must be fixed to the wall using appropriate screws.

Make sure to select screws and wall plugs suitable for your specific wall type. Also, be cautious of hidden pipes or electrical wiring before drilling.

• Identify Your Wall Type

Before installing your wall-mounted TV bench, determine what type of wall you have — for example, drywall, concrete, or lightweight concrete.

Always adapt the length and type of screws and wall plugs to match the wall material to ensure safe and stable mounting.

How to Hide TV Cables

Visible and hanging cables beneath your TV can ruin the clean look of your living room. A practical solution is to use a cable management system or cable trunking, either:

  • Internal (inside the wall)
  • External (mounted on the wall surface)

Cable channels are available in various shapes, sizes, and colors. Most external cable trunking options come with double-sided adhesive tape for easy installation.

Make sure to choose a cable channel large enough to accommodate all cables you want to hide.

Please note that our TV benches do not include a pre-drilled cable hole on the top surface (unlike some other manufacturers). If you choose to use an external cable channel, you will need to drill a custom cable hole in the TV bench yourself, adjusted to the size of the cable trunking.
